2. Today screen

Note: some inputs affect the mobile versions (iOS and Android) only, whereas some inputs affect both the web version only.

This is indicated by the icon shown before the label, e.g. the setting below, which only affects the mobile versions.

Note: when entering color values, please use hexadecimal values. If you do not know these values, please check this with your design team or with Physitrack, or generate the colors yourself online.

Today screen

Field Value Description
Help URL
  • Leave empty, or
  • Enter URL to your own help webpage
The "Help" link / button is shown in the "Preferences" section in your app.
If you leave this field empty, clicking "Help" will lead the user to the PhysiApp knowledge base.
Contact email Email Enter an email address for user support queries.
You may use support@physiapp.com if you would rather that we answer your clients' technical questions.
Please note that our HIPAA-trained support staff will delete any emails without answering, unless the question is technical. We do not provide support on exercises or clinical content.
Today page enabled? On/off If this value is disabled, users of your custom app will be shown the login page to their exercise program rather than the today page with tiles, including Engage (if enabled).
(web) HTML header meta description Text This is the description of your app as it will appear in Google, once Google has indexed the app.
(web) Favicon Image A png or gif image of 32x32 pixels which is shown in the browser's status bar and/or bookmark bar.
Logo in contact box Image By default, the main logo will be used. If you want to replace this, please choose a gif, jpg or png image.
Note that, for best results, we recommend a 2:1 aspect ratio.
(web) Shadow color (hex code) (contact box background): Hex code The background color of the "Contact us" tile
(web) Show first therapist's details instead of search On/off If you have Engage enabled and only have one practice, then you can bypass the practitioner directory and directly show this practice.
(web) Custom CSS CSS code Adjust the size and placement of your logo on the web version of your custom app. You'll usually not have to change these values yourself.
(apps) Show progress summary On/off If disabled, don't show a progress summary chart on the Today page to logged in clients.

Language-dependent settings

Your custom app has the possibility of automatically inheriting the language of the user's device (on the web version, the user will be able to choose a language manually). You can set the supported languages on the Brand Settings > Settings tab.

For example, if you set your custom app to support English and Dutch, then a Dutch UI (and exercises) will be shown if the user's device is set to Dutch. Otherwise, the UI (and exercises) will be shown in English.

The language that is displayed in the select control affects the text values (not the images and colours) that follow.

Field Value Description
Welcome text Text (HTML OK), max 2000 characters This is the text that is shown below your logo and above the tiles to non-logged in users.

Tiles

Most tiles have a similar structure, consisting of title (sometimes named subtitle) and background image. Some tiles also have headings that you can customise.

Field Value Description
Heading Text Heading shown at top of tile in smaller text
Subtitle Text Large text on tile
Font color Hex code Color of text. Note: keep contrast and legibility in mind.
Background color Hex code Color of background (if no image has been set or if image does not fill the entire tile).

A note about background images

Please keep the legibility of text in mind. This means that there needs to be sufficient contrast between your background image and the foreground text.

A good way to achieve this, is to add an "overlay" layer to your background image, set it to black (or white) and reduce the opacity. You can also consider lowering the saturation on the image so that it does not compete with the text.

For best results, use a 16:9 aspect ratio for your image, with an uncluttered background on the side which serves as a background to text. See below for a good example.

Good sources for open-source (public domain) images include Unsplash and Pexels.

Custom tiles

You have the option of adding custom tiles which are shown on the "Today" screen.

  • You can add and remove custom tiles whenever you like, allowing for time-based communications to your client base.
  • Custom tiles are shown on the web, iOS and Android versions of your custom app.

To add a custom tile:

  1. Go to Brand Settings inside your PT Direct account
  2. Scroll down and click the "Add tile" link
  3. Fill in the fields:
    1. Priority: this sets the order in which the tile is shown below the standard Physitrack tiles.

A tile with a higher priority wil show above a tile with a lower priority

    2. Heading: the text to show on the tile
    3. Font color (hex code)
    4. Background color (hex code)
    5. URL: the web page that will open when the patient/client clicks (or taps) on the tile.
      • On the web version of your custom app, this page will be opened in a new browser tab.
      • On the iOS and Android versions, this page will open in a new modal on top of the Today page.
    6. Tile background: if you choose an image, the image will be used as a background image for the tile.
      1. Set the image size to 1920x1080
      2. Use PNG as a file format
      3. Preferably, don't include text in the image, as this hurts the accessibility of the app (screen readers cannot read text in images).
  4. Hit "Save"
