PT Direct: Enabling two-factor authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication ("2FA") is available for all Physitrack Direct accounts, free of charge.

Enabling 2FA for the Physitrack Direct account owner and admin users without practitioner access

  1. Log in to Physitrack Direct as you usually do
  2. Go to page https://XX.physitrack.com/settings

The address depends on your PT Direct account server location. Once you have logged in to your PT Direct account, take note of the address and use it in the settings address. For example, in the UK, the address would be https://uk.physitrack.com/settings and in Australia https://au.physitrack.com/settings

  3. On the Settings page, locate "Two-factor authentication" and click the "Enable two-factor authentication" button.

  4. Now open your authentication app (such as Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator) and add your Physitrack account by scanning the QR code on your screen. Enter the code generated by the app on the website and confirm by clicking the Enable two-factor authentication button.

  5. Done. 2FA is now enabled for you as the owner or admin of the Physitrack Direct account.

Resetting a 2FA token for an admin user

If a user loses (access to) their device, you can reset the 2FA token.

  • Go to the Users page
  • Click on the user whose 2FA token you want to reset
  • Click the "Reset 2fa token" button

  • Done. The next time this user logs in, he/she will be prompted to scan a QR code and enter a new 2FA token.

Enabling 2FA for the Physitrack Direct account practitioner users

Follow the instructions on our support page Enable two-factor authentication (2FA)

This practitioner instruction also applies to owners and admin users who have a practitioner access on their accounts. If an admin or owner of the PT Direct has a practitioner access, they will see the practitioner's view when they log in.

Problems logging in with 2FA

Of course, it could happen that you lose your phone, or that it gets stolen or broken. You will then no longer be able to generate a code to log in to your Physitrack account. In that case, please contact your local Physitrack admin to get help resetting your 2FA token. If the local admin cannot help or you do not have additional admins, you can email us at support@physitrack.com. We are always happy to help you, but...

...in order to help you, we need to be sure that the help request really comes from you. Therefore, please include the following in your email:

  • the last 4 digits of the credit card or bank account that is used to pay for your Physitrack subscription
  • the name of the person (or company) on the credit card or bank account
  • or, if you are on a free academic subscription, your student id

Note: Your e-mail must be sent from the same e-mail address you use to log in to Physitrack!
